The blanket of cloud continues to cover the whole of Belize and wider area as the cold air continues to come down, causing the blanket of cloud to continuously drop light rain all the time. I have recorded 45mm ( 2" ) of total rain over night, 75mm ( 3" ) over the last 48 hours. It has been a slow push down for the cold air and has now stopped the Caribbean winds, the surface wind this morning is the "Tiger wind" from the SW from the mountains.
Looks like most of today will continue to be cloudy, with continuing light rain most of the morning or more.
I really do not need this weather map to tell me what is happening, I know from what I can see and feel. Actually it is wrong, it is not the surface winds as it is supposed to be showing, but winds about 1,000 feet up, the surface wind over central Belize is from the SW. The easterly Caribbean winds have been diverted southwards, not as more typically northwards. There is an upper level low pressure area over Honduras, which, together with the cold air from the north, is helping to squeeze the rain out of the clouds over us. The Guatemala Weather Radar appears to pick up data from Guatamala city, Belize and many other places, but is not actually showing any rain information.
