This is Obi, another of the young Yucatan black howler monkeys in the Nursery Troop
Wildtracks Update: This is Obi, another of the young Yucatan black howler monkeys in the Nursery Troop. This is his story. Obi came to Wildtracks in May 2019, after being found concussed on the ground. Thank you to the tour guides who were in the right place at the right time...who witnessed the attack on his mother by a spider monkey, waited to see if she would return for him, and when that didn't happen, rescued him. Obi would not survive on his own in the wild, as at 3 to 4 weeks old when rescued, he would be fully dependent on his mother. Once at Wildtracks, Obi was paired with a human carer who could give him the care he needed... and milk! Initially Obi could not cope without his "comfort blanket", but now, eight months later, he spends his days playing and bonding with his troop, and enjoying being the cheeky character that he is - and no blanket in sight!

And everything was looking SO sparkly and pretty this morning. So I decided to take the new camera for a test run. (I’ve watched about 75 minutes of set-up videos and still have barely a clue.)
