Additional Measures for the Safety of All Belizeans: Amendment to Quarantine Order
Due to the continued and increasing threat of COVID-19 to Belize, and the rising death toll worldwide, the Government of Belize is concerned that persons continue to disregard self-quarantine measures encouraged by the Ministry of Health; this endangers the lives of all Belizeans. The security forces and health services are already making every effort to ensure the safety of all; however, persons continue to act irresponsibly by entering Belize via blind spots and legal ports of entry, which is dangerous and unsafe, and poses an imminent threat to all those in Belize.

Summer in Belize: What To Do and Where To Go
Belize's peak tourist season comes in the winter when American, Canadian and European travelers pour in to escape the snow in this subtropical paradise. The coronavirus pandemic may have changed that in 2020. All indications are that we could be back to some level of normal by summer 2020. This is a country that enjoys pleasant weather all year long and visiting in the summer season means avoiding the crowds of tourists and instead getting the opportunity to genuinely immerse yourselves in the lives of native Belizeans.

While the debate over who makes the best meat pies in Belize continues daily; for those visiting, we recommend these shops as your go-to for trying them: Dario’s Meat Pie, Belizean Meat Pies, Ladyville Meat Pies, and Pou’s Meat Pie. You decide who’s the winner. The best time to get them is when they’re hot and freshly baked. The scent coming from the meat pie shops will draw you in!

Nutrition and Natural Strategies Offer Hope Against COVID-19, Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola
Interview with n interview with Dr. Andrew Saul. The only real defense against COVID-19 is your own immune system, which works best when fed right. While changing your diet is a commonsense solution for the long term, a rapid-response strategy would be to use vitamin C. Vitamin C strengthens your immune system and kills pathogens, including viruses, when taken in high doses. Other important immune boosting nutrients are vitamin D, magnesium and zinc.

More Americans Should Probably Wear Masks for Protection
The official guidance continues to recommend that masks should be reserved for people who are already sick, as well as for the health workers and caregivers who must interact with infected individuals on a regular basis. Everyone else, they say, should stick to frequent hand-washing and maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from other people to protect themselves. But the recent surge in infections in the United States, which has put the country at the center of the epidemic, with more confirmed cases than China, Italy or any other country, means that more Americans are now at risk of getting sick. And healthy individuals, especially those with essential jobs who cannot avoid public transportation or close interaction with others, may need to start wearing masks more regularly.
