Hi all.
My fiance and I are trying to plan a wedding & honeymoon in Belize in May of next year. Originally we were going to get married in hawaii, but it seems like everything other than the wedding ceremony is expensive there. Can anyone tell me what the costs are like on Belize??? We were thinking of staying at Captin Morgans. We are on a limited budget...any info you can give us will help. Thanks alot!!

You can visit http://www.global-travel.co.uk/weddings.htm
for some good idea on prices.

Hi, trina I would suggest the Orange Walk area. There is a lot to offer there. In particular there is the Lamanai Outpost lodge that offers exactly what you're looking for. You can contact me if you need more info at [email protected]

Blessings to your new marriage!

I would check into Victoria House for your wedding/honeymoon. We were married there in May 2001 and it was wonderful. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Also, Iraida at belizeweddings.com can help you with all your planning. I didn't have to do a thing!

I am getting married at Victoria House in February - we can stay in touch and I will let you know how it goes.

I have done alot of research and this is a very good choice.

If you email Kay Scott - she will send you pics of other weddings at various locations so you can see what looks nice to you. It was a great help in making our decision.

:-)

I saw your post and felt like Dej Vu. My fiance and I had planned to do the Hawaii thing too but after $$$$ we decided Belize and we are thrilled with our choice. We are staying at Captain Morgan's and they are arranging everything for us. We went with CM because a friend of ours actually stayed there for his honeymoon about 3 1/2 yrs. ago. He highly recommended it. We leave August 1, and will be married on the 5th. AFter we return I will find your post and respond or send me your email and I can f/u with you. Email is [email protected] Good luck to you. I hear Belize is just beautiful and I can't wait. Aug can't come soon enough for me.

Howdy!

I got married on AC last September at the SunDiver (which is one hotel north of Captain Morgan's). It was wonderful! It was a small resort, and our guests, my husband and I had the place all to ourselves! You should check them out. www.sundiverbeachresort.com
They have several wedding packages to choose from.

Also, you can contact Iraida Gonzales at www.belizeweddings.com
She arranged everything for us (minister, paperwork, music, flowers, etc.) for a reasonable price.

You will LOVE your wedding in Belize! It was such an amazing event. We were going to go back for our 1 year anniversary in September, but I will be 9 months pregnant at the time, so we'll have to wait to go back next year. I miss it so much!

Congrats and good luck!

Jennifer

Wow! Congrats on the baby Jennifer, that is so exciting. Sorry you won't be able to visit Belize for your one year, but you can take the baby with you in a couple of years. Isn't it hard to believe it's almost been a year? I remember the excitement this time last year. I had just gotten back from my wedding in Belize and you were getting ready for yours. How time flies! Congratulations again!
