Yesterday the C.C.V.C held a meeting with all three soup kitchens namely Il Pelicano, The Volunteers of Caye Caulker Soup Kitchen and Hand of Love. In the meeting it was clearly stated that all three kitchens will continue to serve meals as long as they possible can and one master list will be created to ensure that if a person is getting one meal from a kitchen that person will not be allowed to get at another kitchen. The purpose of this list is to ensure that help is being extended to everyone in need and that distribution is done in the most fair manner. If you would like to sign up for a meal, please contact the Facebook page of Hands of Love or The Volunteers of Caye Caulker Facebook page. The Caye Caulker Village Council express gratitude to all soup kitchens for providing meals to many families.
A donation of breads was also received from Mr. Andre Perez and it was distributed to the residents. Mr. Perez on behalf of the Caye Caulker community we sincerely thank you for your contribution to our community.
The Caye Caulker Village Council was also visited by Lieutenant Commander Alma Pinelo,
Captain Elton Bennett Commandant Belize Coast Guard and Petty Officer class 3 Zebediah Moore. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the time frame of the presence of the Coast Guard during the state of emergency on the island and to ensure that there is an established line of communication with the C.C.V.C. We appreciate Lt. Commander Pinelo, Captain Benett and Officer Moore stopping in for a courtesy visit. The Caye Caulker Village Council anticipates working with the Belize Coast Guard.
