I'm preparing to visit Ambergris Caye in mid-July. Some internet sites for Belize recommend a sweatshirt, light jacket or windbreaker for evenings. I'm trying to pack as light as possible--is a windbreaker really necessary?

Not if your a hunk a hunk of burnin love like myself ! Never needed one but I'm always hot. It's warm in July, leave it at home and pack some cheap tank tops from wal-mart. You'll be glad you did.

That info about the light jacket would apply in Dec./Jan. And only then if there's a norther come down.

I'm as sure as I can be that you won't need one for July.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Occasionally, we have an Alberta Clipper come out of Canada producing brief but fierce high seas, sleet, and horizonal winds. The Mayans used to refer to this weather pattern as the Ku Kolles and believed that the Gods were really, really angry at them.
