Help keep Ocean Academy afloat since tourism-based funding is gone

Ocean Academy on Caye Caulker, Belize, needs your help. A tourism-based economy has disappeared overnight, during high season, affecting all sources of funding. 1) Government funding has been reduced by 19% so funding can shift to feed the jobless. 2) Families are no longer able to pay school fees (no school is free in Belize). 3) The tourism-based school business, Bike with Purpose, had to close when borders closed.

By raising $385 per student (130 students), we can keep Ocean Academy afloat and cover four months of school fees for all students. This means families can focus on food and shelter and teachers can focus on online learning.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps!

UPDATE: It's Wednesday night, 6.5 hours after we posted. Generous supporters have helped to raise enough to fund the fees and expenses for 7 students already! We have set the target for this fundraiser at 20 students . . . on our way to 130!
