quick history lesson, so we can say how useful this board is:
- xunantunich is over 1000 years old.
- part of it is covered in modern materials to protect it, as it was deteriorating (it was original when i saw it in '93)

- pronounced: shoo-NAN too-NEECH . all mayan words have the accent on the second syllable.

- it means 'maiden of the rock'

- the tallest structure is called 'el castillo'. i have climbed it twice (thank you very much). my kids both even made it to the top.

My friend, you did a FANTASTIC job on the pics. I'm really impressed. You MUST blow up the photo of the toucan. He's awesome. I can't wait to see the rest. I'm on a library computer, as my dinosaur at home takes 20 minutes to download one f---ing picture!!! I'll get to them all eventually!! Will go to the lib and check out the ones you sent me email tomorrow. This being in the dark ages technologically SUCKS!!! Love ya.

i forgot to tell you all that i got to go to shark/ray alley & hol chan & snorkel with my best friend, debbie last week.

it was so cool to be able to poke her to look at a parrotfish!

Very nice!! Particularly the botanical gardens.

Jane did Aimee get to snorkel Hol Chan and Shark Ray with you? Most interested in her experience snorkeling there.

with all my prep...she chickened out. got in & got out. i had to respect her feelings. she is just 7.

vicki had a great idea, tho. (bright girl)
she got us a glass bottom boat. we all went together. the divemaster chummed the water & then spun around so they could see. frank even dove under the boat so they could see him!
