Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

Numerous moderate to strong thunderstorms are noted in GOES-16 satellite and lightning data over the Gulf of Honduras and along the coast of Central America, near a tropical wave along 84W as well as an active eastern Pacific monsoon trough. Overnight scatterometer data showed near gale-force winds in the Gulf of Venezuela and near the coast of Colombia, with fresh to strong trades elsewhere across the central Caribbean. These winds are building seas to 8-12 ft from 11N to 17N between 72W and 82W. Fresh to perhaps locally strong winds are occurring in the Gulf of Honduras, and fresh winds continue through the Windward Passage this morning.

Fresh to strong trade winds will prevail across the south-central Caribbean waters this week, with near gale-force winds expected to pulse near the coast of Colombia and in the Gulf of Venezuela. Fresh to strong winds will pulse for the next couple nights through the Windward Passage. Winds and seas may increase over the Tropical N Atlantic waters during the middle and latter parts of this week as a couple of tropical waves cross the region.

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave labeled INVEST 95L located about 2,300 miles ESE of the #LesserAntilles continue to show signs of organization and a tropical depression could form during the next few days as environmental conditions appear to be conducive enough to support additional development. There is a 60% chance of development in the next 5 days.

Conditions are likely to become LESS favorable for further development later in the week as the system approaches the islands.

There has been a massive swellup over Honduras, which is now sending a high level shock wave over Belize, and rain last night and shooting very high level cloud out over the Caribbean towards the east, very similar to what a tropical storm does. This might be associated with that seriously heavy ITCZ area over Nicaragua now for several days.

Looks as if today is going to be rather mixed, could be sunny in a number of places, will have a lot of cloud and could be rain showers, some heavy, in some places, during the day.

A lot of cloud around, but not many swellups, so not much rain at present.

From the Officer in Charge of the island police formation, Superintendent Christopher Noble.

With the current state with the weather, I have asked the officers to exercise leniency and allow persons to check their assets!
