Today most of the new generation of Yucatec Maya speak mostly Spanish ,also English but the use of Yucatec Maya words is still present . Elders are the fluent Maya speakers today . Speaking a Belizean Yucatecan Spanish (Mayanized Spanish) similar to the one in Yucatan but influence with English words .
