The Caye Caulker Village Council received a beach raker to clean the beaches. Training will be conducted at a later date by the company. The Caye Caulker Village Council would like to extend gratitude to our head foreman, Jason Sutherland, who went over and beyond duty to ensure unloading of the equipment. Special mentions to Councilor Neal and Councilor Marin who were on site. The beach raker was a part of a project spearhead by the Belize Tourism Board and the Minister of Tourism.

Training and Demonstration of Beach Rake on Caye Caulker!

A Beach Rake, donated to the Caye Caulker Village Council by The Sustainable Tourism Program II under the Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation, is designed to combat sargassum and other debris on our beaches; leaving behind clean shorelines for locals and guests to enjoy.

Today, the C.C.V. C. maintenance crew were out working on the beach with the beach raker. While the beach raker is more efficient, it requires the entire team to be on ground doing one job and an additional truck to be able to keep up with the dumping of the sargassum. The Crew will continue to adapt as they are still in the the experimental phase with the beach raker. Thank you.
