Sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated today, with a few more developing over the southern districts and some coastal areas tonight.

Outlook:
Showers and thunderstorms will be generally isolated at first. Then, a few showers, thunderstorms and periods of rain will affect inland areas late Tuesday afternoon, increasing and spreading to most places Tuesday night.
Sargassum Forecast from September 22, 2020 to September 30, 2020:
No significant amounts of sargassum was seen over the area on the latest satellite imagery. However, there is still the chance for smaller mats to affect the country in the coming days with minimal impacts. San Pedro has a low probability and a minimal expected impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook:
A broad area of low pressure could from over the western Caribbean Sea in the next few days. Formation chance is currently low through the next 5 days, however, some slow development is possible late this week while the system moves slowly west-northwestward over the northwestern Caribbean.

The Caribbean Sea
A tropical wave is moving over the E Caribbean. Scattered moderate convection is S of Cuba from 19N-22N between
77W-83W. In the SW Caribbean, the east Pacific monsoon trough is
enhancing scattered showers S of 11N. ASCAT data depicts moderate
to fresh winds over the south-central Caribbean north of Colombia
and over the Gulf of Honduras, while gentle to moderate trades
prevail elsewhere. Fresh trades are also noted near the Lesser
Antilles east of the tropical wave axis.
Moderate to fresh trade winds over the central Caribbean will
increase to fresh to strong speeds by mid-week. Moderate winds
will continue elsewhere, except for gentle winds over the
northwestern Caribbean. The tropical wave will continue moving
west across the basin enhancing convection/winds.
A broad area of low pressure could form over the western Caribbean Sea in a few days. Thereafter, some gradual development is possible late this week while the system moves slowly west-northwestward over the northwestern Caribbean. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
By the middle of this week, a frontal boundary is expected to reach then stall near the Yucatan Peninsula. As moisture builds along this frontal boundary and a tropical wave moves westward and interacts with the front, an area of low pressure may begin to develop over the northwestern Caribbean Sea during the middle to later part of the week. There is at least a small chance that a tropical depression or storm can form in this area by the end of the week. Regardless of tropical development, local downpours and flooding can be expected during the middle and end of the week across parts of Central America, southeastern Mexico, Cuba, the Cayman Islands and Jamaica.

There was a high level swellup over southern Toledo over night, but clear at present, but there is more high level streaming towards Belize at present, so there will be patches of high cloud during the morning and could be a little rain from them.
Looks like today will be mainly sunny, but with some high cloud and normal clouds developing later this morning, could be some rain later.

REGION 7 - On the RIO HONDO at Blue Creek and downstream at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas levels are above normal and falling. On the NEW RIVER at Tower Hill and Caledonia levels are above normal and falling.
REGION 9 - On the MACAL RIVER, reservoir levels are below the spillways at Chalillo Mollejon and Vaca facilities. At San Ignacio, levels are below the low-level bridge and steady. The MOPAN RIVER at Benque Viejo Town is above normal and steady. On the BELIZE RIVER, levels at Banana Bank and Double Run are normal and steady. On the CROOKED TREE LAGOON levels remain below the causeway and steady.
REGION 11 - River levels on the SIBUN RIVER near Freetown Sibi' is normal steady. Levels on the SOUTHERN LAGOON near Gales Point Village is normal and steady. The SITTEE RIVER at Kendal Bridge is above normal and falling. The Swasey and Bladen branch of the MONKEY RIVER is normal and falling. Levels on the RIO GRANDE at San Pedro Columbia and Big Falls are nomnal and falling. The MOHO RIVER at Jordan and Blue Creek South are near normal and steady. Levels on the TEMASH RIVER near Crique Sarco are near normal steady.
REGION 13 - On the SARSTOON RIVER levels are above normal and steady.
Flood Forecast
REGION 7 - On the RIO HONDO at Blue Creek and downstream at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas levels are expected to approach above normal stage. On the NEW RIVER at Tower Hill and Caledonia levels are expected to approach to above normal.
