Kindly take note of the reminder of protocols for movement within the country.
With the reopening of the international airport on October 1st we are happy to welcome back returning residents and visitors. We take this opportunity to remind you of the protocols and rules outlined by the Government of Belize to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
- Under the COVID-19 protocols all returning Belizeans and residents, foreign second home owners, long stay visitors and Qualified Retired Persons (QRPs) are to observe the 10-day quarantine, even with a negative COVID-19 test result. The virus has an incubation period and hence the need for the 10-day isolation. Tourists visiting Belize and traveling within the Tourism Safe Corridor are not permitted off the hotel compound unless they are being transported by the Hotel to another Gold Standard hotel for meals, or are on tour with an approved Tour Operator.
- The wristbands provided to tourists at the airport upon arrival are to aid in their identification as a Safe Corridor visitor. The Tourism Police Unit (TPU) will be patrolling and any guest found in the community unaccompanied, will be taken back to their Hotel.
- Remember: masks are mandated, wash &/or sanitize your hands frequently, and practice social distancing. We all have an important role to play in slowing the spread of the virus.
