Sargassum Forecast from October 27, 2020 to November 04, 2020:
There is the chance that a few Sargassum mats could impact local beaches in the coming days but impacts are expected to remain minimal to moderate. San Pedro has a medium probability and a moderate expected impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook:
At 6:00am Tropical Storm Eta was located near latitude 21.9N, longitude 79.1W, or 280 miles SSE of Miami, Florida. It is important to note that, while weather conditions have improved over Belize, widespread flooding will continue to affect the country due to the rising river levels.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Eta, located near central Cuba.
Tropical Storm Eta, located south of Cuba, is forecast to
move northward across Cuba today, emerging over the Straits of
Florida later today. At that time, winds, seas and squalls will be
decreasing over the NW Caribbean Sea. A line of scattered strong
convection is noted from the NE coast of Nicaragua to western
Jamaica, in addition to the convection mentioned above in the
special features section for Tropical Storm Eta.
Fresh to strong winds associated with the cyclonic circulation
of Eta extend farther S to about 15N based on scatterometer
data. These winds are associated with a surface trough extending
from 17N80W to 14N83.5W. Mainly moderate trade winds dominate
the eastern Caribbean.
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Eta, located near central Cuba.
Tropical Storm Eta is centered near 21.5N 79.3W at 08/0900 UTC or 80 nm W of Camaguey Cuba moving NE at 10 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 991 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 55 kt with gusts to 65 kt. Numerous strong convection is within 240 nm E semicircle and 60 nm W semicircle, including over portions of Jamaica and Cuba. On the forecast track, the center of Eta will cross central Cuba this morning, approach South Florida and the Florida Keys this afternoon, and pass near or over South Florida and the Florida Keys tonight and Monday. A tropical storm warning is in effect for South Florida and the Florida Keys. A hurricane watch and storm surge watch are in effect for portions of Florida.
Heavy rainfall will continue across the Cayman Islands, portions of Cuba and Jamaica, and will spread north into the Bahamas and southern Florida. Significant, life-threatening flash and river flooding is possible in Cuba, along with landslides in areas of higher terrain, especially in central Cuba. Flash and urban flooding are also possible for the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, the Bahamas and South Florida.
A broad non-tropical low pressure system is expected to form several hundred miles southwest of the Azores within the next couple of days. Any subtropical development of this system is expected to be slow to occur while it moves generally eastward or east-northeastward over the northeastern Atlantic Ocean through the middle of the week. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind is from the West at 15 mph. The water is receding and the heavy rains are over. Our expected high temperature for the day is 87 f.
The weather people are suggesting Eta could develop into another Hurricane off Florida, tomorrow. Meanwhile, it is causing a large area of cool air to be coming down from the north, over the Yucatan and Belize. Small white cool weather clouds are over Belize, which will be getting more later.
Looks as if most of Belize will have a fair amount of sunshine this morning, but the clouds will get larger this afternoon, no rain expected, but there could be the odd outcrop of rain.
