General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Mostly sunny this morning, a few clouds in the central regions. Relatively moist and unstable conditions setting in.
Advisories: *A Flood Warning remains in effect for communities in the Belize district.*
24-hour forecast: Sunny with cloudy spells today with isolated showers this morning, then increasing along with isolated thunderstorms around the country this afternoon. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will affect mainly coastal areas tonight.

Outlook: For Saturday and Saturday night is for similar weather conditions.
Sargassum Forecast from November 10, 2020 to November 18, 2020: No significant impact from sargassum is expected during the next few days. San Pedro has a low probability and a minimal expected impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook: A tropical wave located over the central Caribbean Sea continues to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms. There is a high chance that a tropical depression will form during the next couple of days as the wave moves slowly westward over the central and western Caribbean Sea. At 3:00am Tropical Storm Theta was centered near latitude 31.9N, longitude 24.9W, or about 445 miles SSE of the Azores. At 3:00am Post Tropical Cyclone Eta was located near latitude 33.3N, longitude 76.8W, or about 85 miles SE of Wilmington, North Carolina. Click for more...

The Caribbean Sea

Invest 98L, a tropical wave is a developing low pressure area in the central Caribbean Sea.

Otherwise, high pressure is northeast of the basin. This high combined with the area of low pressure is supporting fresh to strong winds south of Haiti per overnight scatterometer data. Gentle to moderate winds along with seas of mainly 3 ft or less prevail across the western Caribbean Sea, with moderate to fresh trades and seas of 4-6 ft in the eastern Caribbean Sea.

Conditions will improve in the central Caribbean as the area of low pressure shifts W-NW with mainly moderate to locally fresh trades prevailing across the central and eastern Caribbean in its wake through early next week.

Marty OP	The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Eta, located near the coast of the southeast U.S., and on Tropical Storm Theta, located over the eastern Atlantic. A tropical wave (Invest 98L) located over the central Caribbean Sea continues to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms. This system has become a little better organized during the past several hours. Additional development is expected, and a tropical depression will likely form within the next day or two as it moves slowly westward over the central and western Caribbean Sea. Interests in Honduras and Nicaragua should closely monitor the progress of this system. Regardless of development, this disturbance is expected to bring heavy rainfall along with possible flash flooding to portions of Hispaniola over the next day or so. Marty OP	Our weather is changing. The cool air from the north is still coming down, and the Caribbean winds from the north out at sea, but there is some high level wind from the NE causing significant cloud off shore, and possibly contributing to some over land. Looks as if it will be largely sunny, but increasing cloud during the day, could be some rain later. Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last night min. 25°C 78°F Yesterday 32°C 89°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0")

A gradual increase in moisture and unstable conditions expected over the area in the coming days. 24hr Forecast:Sunny with cloudy spells during the daytime and partly cloudy tonight. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will affect mainly inland areas and some coastal areas this afternoon and tonight, becoming isolated by the morning. Elsewhere, showers or thunderstorms will be isolated. A Flood Warning remains in effect for communities in the Belize district. Marty OP	They have now named that probably storm TROPICAL DEPRESSION THIRTY-ONE which is only just beginning to have any apparent rotation. BUT they are expecting it to rapidly spin up to Cat.2 hurricane and go into Honduras/Nicaragua almost exactly the same as T Storm ETA did, but still early days to be very sure of anything. Meanwhile, more cloud over Belize, and the odd fine sprinkle. For more on Tropical Depression 31, click here Flood Forecast for November 13, 2020 Residents in the Central, Western and Southern parts of the country are advised that the rivers may flood again due to the passage of Tropical Depression thirty-one. (residents are advised to monitor this system) River Conditions and Forecast REGION 7 - On the RIO HONDO at Blue Creek river levels are above the banks and shows a minimal rise this should continue into later today then levels should begin to recede over the weekend. Downstream at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas levels above normal and steady this should continue through the weekend. On the NEW RIVER at Tower Hill and Caledonia, above normal and steady levels are expected to become near normal levels through Monday. REGION 9 - On the MACAL RIVER, reservoir levels at all BECOL facilities are receding. At San Ignacio, levels below the low-level bridge and continues to fall, levels are expected to continue to recede through the weekend. On the MOPAN RIVER at Benque Viejo Town levels are above normal and steady, this trend should continue into Monday. On the BELIZE RIVER through the weekend, flood levels in the upper Belize River should begin to see a decrease, while in the lower Belize River at Belize River Valley, and surrounding Communities, Double Run and near Haulcreek levels will continue to rise. On the CROOKED TREE LAGOON levels are affecting the causeway and rising slowly. RESIDENTS IN THE BELIZE RIVER VALLEY AND DOWNSTREAM TO THE COAST SHOULD REMAIN VIGILANT AS THE RISING FLOOD WATERS MOVE DOWNSTREAM TO THE COAST. REGION 11 - Flood levels on the SIBUN RIVER near Freetown Sibun are receding and this should continue through weekend. Above Normal levels on the SOUTHERN LAGOON near Gales Point Village should continue through the weekend. Above normal levels in watersheds on the EASTERN SLOPES OF THE MAYAN MOUNTAINS are receding, this trend should continue through the weekend. REGION 13 - On the SARSTOON RIVER levels are above normal and steady.
