We just had the test on this past Monday so we could travel to the states for medical tests, and the COVID test was mandatory for any medical appointments, stateside, or any procedure. Took 1/2 hr for results; but we picked them up later on the way home, @ 250 $ BZ a person for the tests.

Upon arrival stateside these tests were not accepted and we needed to do mine again with negative results before any procedures could be done. Had the test done here at BMA.

At the moment my wife and I are in Houston, Texas. We came here from AC for medical appointments. Both of us were required to have Covid tests for our appointments. So we too had them at BMA on AC. The tests were not accepted here by the local hospital. $500 BZ down the drain.

The rapid test is only for you to feel comfortable and fairly confident that you are covid19 negative when you are set to begin traveling but for any medical certainty you need to take a PCR test which takes hours or days to receive the results.

You are absolutely correct Amanda. We did not understand this and thought that the test from BMA would be sufficient. We attempted to get the PCR test on AC but the results would take 5-7 days, therefore making them invalid for use in the US. Therefore, there is no Covid test that can be taken on AC which could be used for medical purposes in the US.

Yes that's right. In Belize there is a protocol in place for those who require PCR tests and results for travel purposes (students) and for medical purposes. There is a set schedule and you must make an appointment with the Ministry of Health to make the arrangements to qualify and receive the PCR testing that are acceptable internationally.
