San Pedro has a low probability and a minimal expected impact. This activity is supported by shallow moisture and divergent flow between two middle level anticyclones. Surface ridge over the Gulf of Mexico will shift eastward to the region of the Bahamas today and will result in a stronger pressure gradient in the Caribbean. There are no organized features in the Atlantic basin at this time.

A broad area of low pressure located several hundred miles south of Bermuda continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms, Strong upper-level winds are expected to inhibit development of the system for the next day or so after the low merges with a frontal system. By late Wednesday or Thursday, the system could become separated from the front, allowing it to possibly develop some subtropical characteristics while it meanders over the central Atlantic.

Outlook: Showers and thunderstorms will continue to be isolated on Wednesday afternoon, but will increase slightly, especially over the south on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, with the passage of a tropical wave.

FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR RIVERS, STREAMS, CREEKS and WATERWAYS IN THE BELIZE, CENTRAL. and WESTERN PARTS OF THE COUNTRY (includes - San Ignacio, Benque, Banana Bank, Double Run, Crooked Tree, Maypen, Lemonal, Rancho Dolores. Flowers Bank, Scotland Halfmoon, Boston, Lucky Strike, Rock Stone Pond, Lord's Bank, Burrell Boom, Grace Bank, Western Pines communities and Downstream to the coast — Belize City.

A FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR COMMUNITIES DOWNSTREAM ON THE RIO HONDO. (RESIDENTS IN THE DOWNSTREAM AREAS OF THE RIO HONDO (especially the Albion Island area) ARE TO REMAIN VIGILANT AS FLOOD WATERS FROM BLUE CREEK CONTINUES TO MOVE DOWNSTREAM.

River Conditions

REGION 7 - The RIO HONDO at Blue Creek is still at flood stage and has started to recede slowly. Downstream at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas, levels are at flood stage and continues to increase steadily. Flood levels on the NEW RIVER at Tower Hill and Caledonia has exceeded the historical Mitch stage and continues to increase steadily.

REGION 9 - Reservoir levels on the MACAL RIVER, at all BECOL facilities have started to recede slowly. At San Ignacio, Flood levels remains above the low-level bridge and receding. Flood levels on the MOPAN RIVER at Benque Viejo Town are increasing.

On the BELIZE RIVER at Banana Bank and surrounding areas, Flood Levels continues to increase; at Belize River Valley and surrounding communities, Double Run and near the Haulover Creek to the coast. Flood levels continue to increase. On the CROOKED TREE LAGOON. the causeway remains inundated as flood levels continue to increase.

REGION 11 - Flood levels on the SIBUN RIVER near Freetown Sibun have exceeded the historical Mitch stage, levels are now receding slowly. Levels on the SOUTHERN LAGOON near Gales Point Village are above normal and falling. The watersheds on the EASTERN SLOPES OF THE MAYAN MOUNTAINS are near normal and continue to recede. The SITTEE RIVER at Kendal Bridge is near normal and receding. The Swasey and Bladen branches of the MONKEY RIVER are above normal and receding. Levels on the RIO GRANDE at San Pedro Columbia and Big Falls are above normal and slowly receding. The MOHO RIVER at Jordan and Blue Creek South is above normal and receding. Levels on the TEMASH RIVER near Crique Sarco is above normal and steady.

REGION 13 - On the SARSTOON RIVER levels are above normal and steady.

FLOOD FORECAST

REGION 7 — Flood stage on the RIO HONDO at Blue Creek is expected to increase minimally while at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas downstream to the coast will continue to increase. On the NEW RIVER at Tower Hill, and Caledonia, Flood levels are expected to begin to recede.

REGION 9 - On the MACAL RIVER, reservoir levels at all BECOL facilities are expected to continue to recede; while at San Ignacio, Flood levels are expected to remain above the low-level bridge and continue to recede. On the MOPAN RIVER, at Benque Viejo Town Flood levels are expected to become steady.

On the BELIZE RIVER. at Banana Bank, Belize River Valley and surrounding communities, Double Run and near Haulover Creek to the Coast, increasing Flood Levels are expected to continue. On the CROOKED TREE LAGOON, the causeway is expected to remain inundated as flood levels continue to increase.

REGION 11 — Flood levels on the SIBUN RIVER near Freetown Sibun is expected to continue to recede. Levels on the SOUTHERN LAGOON near Gales Point Village is expected to become steady. In watersheds on the EASTERN SLOPES OF THE MAYAN MOUNTAINS, near normal levels are expected to fall to normal levels. Above normal levels on the MOHO and TEMASH RIVERS are expected to continue to fall to near normal levels.

REGION 13 — Above normal levels on the SARSTOON RIVER is expected to continue to recede and become steady.
