The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Embassy and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has been supporting the work of UNICEF to reduce the risk and impact of COVID-19 for vulnerable children and adolescents in Belize. The project received funding of U.S. $300,000 to support a comprehensive response to the critical needs to reduce the risk of increased COVID-19 cases among the most vulnerable children and families.
As a part of the ongoing project 354 families from the areas most severely affected by Hurricane Eta in the Cayo district will benefit from the provision of emergency hygiene and nutrition kits. The kits will contain critical hygiene supplies for a family of five, and it will also include a nutrition hamper with supplemented food.
