Power outage scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26 to affect Almond Street, Barracuda Street, Basil Jones Street, Beach Front, Bermuda Beach, Blue Dolphin, Buena Vista Area, Boca Del Rio, Bonefish Street, Bright Waters Street, Canary Cove Area, Coco Beach Area, Deer Street, Habaneros Area, Iguana Street, Indigo Street, Jewfish Street, Lagoon Street, Laguna Street, Mangrove Drive, Middle Street, Pescador Drive, San Juan Area, Sandpiper Street, Seagull Street, Seaweed Street, Spider Lily Street, Lina Point, Mata Grande, Mata Villas, Mexico Rocks Subdivision, North Ambergris, Nunez Subdivision, Playa Blanca, Punta Arena Street, San Feliz Area Tres Cocos, San Mateo Subdivision, San Juan and entire North San Pedro.

BEL to energize power lines to facilitate connection for a customer in the area.

Power outage scheduled from 7AM to 10AM on Friday, October 23 to affect portion North San Pedro: all areas between Captain Morgan’s Retreat & Tranquillity Bay Resort. BEL to energize power lines to connect new customer in area.

Emergency power outage from 1PM to 2PM on Sunday, November 29 to affect a portion of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye: Barrier Reef Drive, Front Street, Black Coral Street between Pescador Drive and Front Street, Pelican Street between Barrier Reef Drive and Front Street and Caribeña Street between Pescador Drive and Front Street. BEL to complete connection of newly installed power lines to improve the reliability of power supply in the area.

BEL teams were dispatched to North San Pedro, Ambergris Caye to investigate the cause of an unplanned power outage affecting the area from Captain Morgan’s Retreat to Tranquillity Bay Resort, since 7:50PM, Sunday, December 13. Upon inspection, the team discovered damaged underground cables near Captain Morgan’s Retreat. The cause of the damage is still unknown and will require further inspection to determine. The team is making preparations to repair the underground cables, but this is usually a very lengthy and meticulous process, requiring equipment to be transported from the mainland. Due to this, the approximate restoration time is for 6PM, Monday, December 14. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we will continue to provide updates as our teams do their best to restore power supply to the area.

Power came back on at 5AM today. Kudos to the repair team.

Saturday's power outage was nationwide and due to a fault at the Comisión Federal de Electriciad, the Mexican power company.
