Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
An upper level ridge extends from Venezuela into the eastern
Pacific Ocean beyond 07N92W. Upper level anticyclonic wind flow
and dry air in subsidence covers the Caribbean Sea.
A strong cold front extends across the Yucatan Channel from the
western tip of Cuba to the Yucatan peninsula near 19N88W. Broken
to overcast multi-layered clouds, and isolated embedded showers,
are within 90 nm either side of the cold front.
The monsoon trough extends from northern Colombia near 11N73W,
across Panama, into the eastern Pacific Ocean, producing isolated
shower activity along the boundary.
Isolated showers are possible elsewhere, in scattered to broken
low-level clouds moving through the area, from 70W eastward, and
from 13N northward from 70W westward, most notably off the coasts
of NE Honduras and E Nicaragua.
The cold front will extend from central Cuba to Honduras today,
from eastern Cuba to Nicaragua on Saturday, then stall and weaken
on Sunday. Fresh to strong northerly winds and building seas are
expected across the western Caribbean today.
On Ambergris Caye this morning we have a strong wind from the North currently at 21 mph. The sky is overcast and the expected high temperature for the day is only 74 f. *A Small Craft Warning is in effect. Operators of small crafts should remain in safe harbour.*
That white stuff is certainly coming down strongly from the north, been falling as light rain since 2am and still continuing as the Cold air pushes southwards, way beyond Belize now. Even the high level clouds are now being deflected southwards. causing a thick blanket of cloud over Belize. The coldest night of the winter, 18°C 65°F
Looks as if we will be under this heavy cloud and light rain much of this special day, perhaps some opens skies moving down from the north this afternoon.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 18°C 65°F Yesterday 29°C 84°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0.1") This Morning Rain 6.5mm ( 0.3" )

Cold front is over Belize today. An Intense cold front is located over the country favoring cloudy from north to south and with some rains and very strong gusts of wind, in addition to a drastic drop in temperatures.
Present Condition: Cloudy, windy and cool weather conditions prevail behind a cold front.
A small craft warning remains in effect. Operators of small crafts should remain in safe harbor.
24hr Forecast: Continuing cloudy skies along with periods of light rain over most areas.
Outlook: For Saturday afternoon through to midday on Sunday is for variably cloudy skies with isolated showers or periods of light rain.

Complicated weather right now, dominated by the cold air from the north, which somehow is resulting the surface wind over Belmopan to be from the SW. The Caribbean winds are being diverted towards the south, even high level over the Caribbean are being diverted, yet there is something sneaking up over the west Yucatan from the south. A total of 9.9mm 0.4" or rain today.
So looks as if still cloudy tomorrow, and cold.
