Belize Weather Forecast: December 27, 2020

General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Cool and cloudy as a cold front passes through the country. Fair weather prevails.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Cloudy spells with little or no rainfall.
Winds: N-NE, 5-10 kts
Sea State: Choppy
Waves: 3-5 ft

Outlook: A few showers will develop mainly over coastal and northern areas Monday morning, then mainly along the coast and over the southern districts Monday night.
Sargassum Forecast from December 22, 2020 to December 30, 2020: Latest satellite images continue to suggest little to no sargassum mats over the area and therefore no significant impacts are expected from sargassum during the next few days. San Pedro has a low probability and a minimal expected impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook: There are no organized tropical features across the Atlantic basin at this time. There will no additional updates to this summary until the beginning of the 2021 hurricane season (June 1). Click for more...

Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

A stationary front extends from eastern Cuba to western Jamaica to Nicaragua with moderate to fresh northerly winds and building seas west of the boundary. Only isolated showers are noted over the offshore waters of Nicaragua ahead of the front. Dry and stable air at the middle and lower levels support stable conditions elsewhere.

The front will gradually weaken and disspate by Mon, however winds behind the front will increase to fresh to strong on Mon night as the gradient between strong high pressure N of the area and the remnants of the front tighten. E to SE fresh to strong winds in this region will prevail through Thu ahead of the next cold front. Otherwise, gentle to moderate winds in the central and eastern Caribbean will increase to fresh to strong Wed evening and prevail through the weekend.

OP Marty	Still very complex weather, but basically the cold air is still pushing down from the north, over the western Caribbean, but there is Caribbean easterly winds creaking in over it, and bringing thin cloud over Belize and there is traces of warmer air from the south, particularly over Guatamala but only a few traces of high level cloud from the SW. All this appears to mean a partly cloudy day, but brightish and probably no rain. Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 19°C 66°F Yesterday 24°C 75°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0")

OP Marty	Present Condition: Partly cloudy. Mainly fair weather prevailing, then a slight increase in moisture is expected. 24hr Forecast: Sunny skies with cloudy spells to day with little or no rainfall. Tonight will be cloudy at times. A few showers or periods of rain will develop mainly along coastal areas later tonight and tomorrow.
