Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
Fresh to strong northerly winds are over the NW Caribbean behind
a dissipating stationary front that extends from the Windward
Passage to eastern Jamaica. Only isolated showers are over
portions of the SW basin associated with the remnants of the
front.
The front will dissipate this morning, however strong high
pressure building N of the area will continue to support strong
winds in this region through Sat. As as result of the strong high
pressure, gentle to moderate winds elsewhere will strengthen to
fresh to strong Tue night through Sat night.
The easterly Caribbean winds have taken over. They caused a line of rain yesterday, that is now clear, but there is cloud in the Caribbean winds and some clashing with high level winds from the SW, which could cause the odd rain shower later.
Looks as if today will be significantly sunny, but with a fair amount of cloud, could be the odd rain shower.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 20°C 68°F Yesterday 23°C 74°F Yesterday Rain 9.4 mm ( 0.4")
Present Condition: Mostly cloudy, some clearing in the north. A cool and somewhat moist northeasterly airflow prevails over our area.
Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution for occasionally rough seas.
24hr Forecast: Cloudy at times along with a few showers or periods of rain mostly over central and southern areas this afternoon, then mostly over the extreme south tonight. Otherwise, showers will be isolated.
Outlook: For Wednesday afternoon through to midday on Thursday is for generally fair weather with isolated showers.
