Latest satellite imagery suggests that sargassum has increased over the area and there is a medium chance of sargassum landing on local beaches with moderate impacts during the coming days. San Pedro has a medium probability and a moderate expected impact.

The Caribbean Sea
A cold front will move across the NW Caribbean later today
through Fri night. Behind the front, fresh to strong NE winds can
be expected over the NW Caribbean waters through Sat and over the
Atlantic passages from Fri afternoon through Sun. N swell will
propagate into the NE Caribbean passages and Tropical N Atlantic
waters through the weekend, with the largest swell expected Sun
and Sun night. The next cold front may approach the NW Caribbean
on Mon into Mon night.
There is a Gale Warning
in effect for the south-central Caribbean Sea north of the coast
of Colombia. The remnants of a stationary front extending from the Tropical N
Atlantic to near 17N57W continue to wash out with isolated to
scattered showers leftover. Earlier scatterometer data showed
moderate to fresh easterly trades across the Caribbean, except
fresh to strong in the south-central Caribbean, strongest near the
coast of Colombia, and mainly moderate in the northwest
Caribbean. Seas are 4-7 ft in the central and eastern Caribbean,
except 7-11 ft in the south-central Caribbean, and 3-5 ft in the
There is cool air starting to push down, presently, only effecting the north Yucatan, but is already deflecting the Caribbean winds which have typical clumps of cloud in them, but in this case, a large clumpy area or several all presently coming in over land, causing some isolated rain in a number of central and south areas.

Present Condition: Mostly cloudy in the south, much less so in the north. A slight increase in moisture and instability is expected during the next 24 to 36 hours.
24hr Forecast: Sunny with cloudy spells this afternoon becoming cloudy at times tonight and tomorrow. Showers will be isolated this afternoon and tonight, then increasing to a few showers and periods of rain tomorrow morning.
Outlook: For Friday afternoon to Saturday morning is for a few showers or periods of rain continuning mostly over the southern portions of the country.
