Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
Strong to near gale-force trade winds in the central Caribbean
will diminish to fresh to strong this morning as high pressure N
of the area shifts eastward. Gale force winds near the coast of
Colombia will diminish as well. Fresh to locally strong winds and
large long-period N swell over the E Caribbean, NE Caribbean
passages and the Tropical N Atlantic will start to diminish Tue
evening. A cold front is forecast to reach from western Cuba to
the Yucatan Peninsula later today, then stall as it reaches from
the Dominican Republic to the central Caribbean by early Wed.
Fresh to strong winds following the front will affect the NW
Caribbean today through Tue morning and the SW Caribbean from Tue
through Wed night. Fresh to strong winds will re-develop over the
central Caribbean and the Windward Passage Wed night and prevail
through Fri night.
Those several lines or waves of cool air moving over Belize from the NW, have been followed by a whole load of cool air cloud from the NW. The odd thing about it all is that it is rolling over the lower Caribbean winds, but now the Caribbean air over Belize is starting to be pushed back from the NW, the fight is on.
Looks as if Belize will have a lot of cloud today, despite some areas in sunshine, as the north air pushes down, presently no indication of rain, except perhaps in the mountains, but that can change.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 23°C 73°F Yesterday 29°C 84°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0")
Present Condition: Partly cloudy as a cold front passes through. That cold front will cross the country tonight.
24hr Forecast: Cloudy skies today with a few sunny breaks. Tonight skies will be variably cloudy. Isolated showers along with periods of rain will affect mainly coastal and southern areas tonight and tomorrow morning.
Outlook: For Tuesday afternoon thru to Wednesday afternoon is for cool and dry weather to prevail.
