Sargassum Forecast from January 26, 2021 to February 3:
Latest satellite imagery suggests that sargassum has increased over the area and there is a medium chance of sargassum landing on local beaches with moderate impacts during the coming days. San Pedro has a medium probability and a moderate expected impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook:
There are no organized tropical features across the Atlantic basin at this time. Updates will resume at the beginning of the 2021 hurricane season (June 1).

With the passage of a cold front last night, temperatures of the early hours this morning fell to about 50 degrees Fahrenheit at Baldy Beacon, 50 - 58 in northern districts, around 62 inland, and 63 - 68 along the coast.
In our early morning hours temperatures fell to about 50 degrees Fahrenheit or slightly lower in the hills, around 58 inland, and 62 along the coast.
Note: The second day after a cold front crosses is usually the coldest or with the lowest temps to be recorded, in association with the cold front.
Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
Fresh to strong N winds are over the NW Caribbean behind a cold
front that extends from eastern Cuba SW to the eastern Gulf of
Honduras. These winds will shift to the far SW Caribbean this
evening, reaching near gale force speeds along Nicaragua offshore
waters. Winds will start to diminish in the SW basin Wed morning
as the front stalls from Hispaniola to Costa Rica before dissipating
Wed night. Mainly fair weather is across the basin being supported
by deep layer dry air. Shallow moisture associated with the front
and middle level diffluence support scattered showers and tstms in
portions of Haiti and the Windward Passage.
Fresh to locally strong trade winds in the southern Caribbean
will expand to the north-central basin and the Windward Passage
Thu and prevail through Sat night. Otherwise, long-period N swell
over the NE Caribbean passages and the Tropical N Atlantic will
start to subside today.
As you have probably gathered, it was a cold clear sky last night, as two different cold bubbles of air and the cold high level winds also came over Belize. Both NASA and NOAA are offline this morning, both failed this morning, I got just one single picture of 4:20am. This morning there is a light breeze from the WSW, and completely clear blue skies.
Looks as if much of this morning will be sunny, cloud free, perhaps some clouds later, but no rain expected.

Today was one of the coldest - if not the coldest day of the year so far.
This morning, the MET Service recorded temperatures in the low 50's.
Belizeans across the country pulled out their favorite jacket and took to social media to comment on the unusual chill, but according to one of MET's forecasters, while it is colder than usual, it's nothing new for the month of February.
Shanyea Young, Head of Agro climatic Section, MET Office "The months of January and February are normally our coolest months and those are normally the coolest months because of the influence of cold fronts or frontal systems that may cross the country. So, it's not unusual for the month of February to be cold, but as you rightly said the minimum temperatures that have been observed at least by our automatic station so far seem to be rather low. We still are in the process of verifying those temperatures and cross checking them with our manual stations, but we haven't received all the data from our out district stations as yet to verify those. At least maybe about 2 stations have received a lower minimum temperature for today and also for the month of February as compared to past years."
"For the automatic stations, in the hills this morning Baldly Beacon recorded around 10 degrees Celsius and for that particular station for February 3rd the minimum previously was about 13.3 degrees Celsius arm our automatic station reported 10.2 degrees Celsius, but in consulting our out-district observer for Central Farm they reported a minimum of 9.3 degrees Celsius. Previously for February 3rd the minimum for Central Farm was 9.4 degrees Celsius and it is not the lowest minimum temperatures that has been recorded for the month of February because the lowest for that station is about 7,8, but for February 3rd this morning minimum value so far seems to be about 0.1 lower than the minimum for February 3rd in previous years. But for the month of February no record was broken because the minimum for this particular station is 7.8 which occurred in 1970."
Young said that there is the possibility of another cold front during the rest of the month that might lead to more low temperatures.
