Even with the increased health measures and mandatory mask-wearing, I am glad we have reached a point where we can go out and enjoy some time at our favorite restaurant or hangout spot. Oh, how I missed lounging by the beach snacking on some seasonal seafood ceviche with a refreshing cocktail in hand! Of course, we need to follow some Covid-19 health and safety measures when dining out in Belize, but these precautions are a small sacrifice when we get to enjoy a touch of “normal” life.

From the moment you leave your home, vacation house, hotel, or resort, masks must be worn appropriately. Under Belize Covid-19 Prevention regulation, everyone must wear masks when out in public, even when driving on a golf cart. Once you reach your restaurant of choice, there will be a handwashing station available outdoor that you are required to use before entering the premises. It is also necessary for restaurant staff to check your temperature using either a wrist or forehead thermometer and record the data along with your name for health records. Once the health procedures are out of the way, you can take your seat, and masks can be removed.
