On Tuesday, March 9th, the Minister of Health and Wellness (MOHW), the Honourable Michel Chebat, handed over around $14,000 worth of medical equipment to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II. The equipment included one EKG machine, one suction pump, three infusion pumps, three patient monitors, and one laryngoscope kit. Chebat also toured the medical facility and witnessed frontline personnel receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Accompanying the MOHW Minister was his colleague and Minister of the Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, the Honourable Andre Perez, and the newly installed Mayor of San Pedro Gualberto ‘Wally’ Nuñez. Chebat met with the polyclinic’s medical staff, and Dr. Joshua A. Canul toured him throughout the facility.

Minister of Health and Wellness Makes Donation to San Pedro Poly Clinic

Belize’s Minister of Health and Wellness, Hon. Michel Chebat was on hand at the San Pedro Poly Clinic, this morning, accompanied with Hon. Andre Perez, Minister of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation and Mayor Wally Nuñez, to donate equipment for the medical center.

The donation worth approximately $14,000 included EKG equipment, suction pump, infusion pumps, patient monitors and a laryngoscopes kit. They were handed over to the medical personnel at the San Pedro Poly Clinic and the ministers were given a tour of the facility.

On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, Mayor Wally Nuñez, Councilor Jose Castellanos, and Hon. Andre Perez, Minister of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, was invited at a handing-over presentation, where the Minister of Health and Wellness, Hon. Michel Chebat presented a donation to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic II of 3 infusion pumps, 3 patient monitors, 1 laryngoscope, and 1 suction machine. These donations will be of great use at the polyclinic to assist with COVID-related situations or any emergency.

After the presentation, Dr. Joshua Canul gave the Mayor and Ministers a tour of facilities at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic and also had the opportunity to witness a few of our frontline workers receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Following, a tour of the Flu Clinic in the San Pablo Area was also facilitated by Dr. Canul and Health Inspector, Ms. Kristina Sanchez.
