On Tuesday, March 9th, the Minister of Health and Wellness (MOHW), the Honourable Michel Chebat toured the Polyclinic. After the tour, the minister indicated to The San Pedro Sun that he is fully aware of the island’s healthcare needs. “This government is committed to putting together the hospital that has been wanted in this community for the past 13 years,” said Chebat. We are committed to putting that together for the people of San Pedro and Caye Caulker.” He did not give a timeline of when that would be.

Minister Of Health And Wellness Commits To Delivering A Hospital For San Pedro

Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness reiterated his commitment to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize, making a donation of equipment to the San Pedro Poly Clinic during his visit to the island this week.

Adding strength to his donation and verbal commitment to improvements for the island, during his address at the swearing-in ceremony, he stated that his ministry and government will deliver the hospital that has been promised to the island for the past 13 years by the previous administration. “I have seen Wally and his team working and I know that together they will make a difference for San Pedro,” stated Hon. Michel Chebat. “Our commitment to you is to continue working to the best of our ability to turn this country around. To make sure that we have jobs, to make sure that people get back to work, to make sure that we have proper health care for everyone.”
