The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has indicated that it welcomes COPA Airlines’ announcement this week that it will resume its weekly service to Belize effective June 2021. COPA Airlines first introduced service to Belize from Panama in December 2015, but had to suspend operations in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic crippled the global travel industry.

The BTB has maintained strong relationships with its international airline partners throughout the COVID pandemic, and continues to seek opportunities to further expand accessibility to the destination. COPA’s resumption of service will create new opportunities to promote and sell the destination to key markets within South America and Europe. Additional details regarding flight frequency will be shared in the coming weeks.

Copa Airlines has moved up the start date on service resumption to June 2. Flights will now initially operate on Wednesdays (June 2 and 9th), before settling into the Friday schedule in the original post below.

Flights to Belize City from Panama on will be on a 160 seat 737-800.

Not only is Panama a wonderful place to visit, but it is also a super easy place to connect to Belize from Latin America and Europe.

Copa Airlines is increasing capacity to Belize! Flights from Panama are being increased to twice weekly in December.

Flights will also now operate on Tuesdays on a 737-800 starting on December 7th as per schedule below. Until then flights remain at one time weekly (Fridays). #Panama is a great place to connect to #Belize from Latin America and Europe.
