The Easter Weekend's come and gone, and for many Belizeans, it was a much-anticipated opportunity to escape the daily grind.
And while you'd expect that in the time of COVID, hotels and resorts would have a hard time filling rooms, President of the Belize Hotel Association, Ted Tejada, says, not so. At least not for destinations near the sea, that's because Belizeans flocked in droves to those white sandy beaches.
He gave his assessment of tourism for Easter 2021:
And just how many tourists are visiting Belize from abroad? Tejada says the numbers have been steadily rising, and he's optimistic that within a year they might be very near to the pre-covid average.
