Belize Weather Forecast: April 28, 2021


General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Mostly sunny except for some clouds in the south and west this morning. Sunny and windy in San Pedro. Warm and mostly dry conditions will prevail.
Advisories: HEAT ALERT: Residents, especially those living in the interior of the country, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible.
24-hour forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy tonight. Little or no rainfall is expected.
Winds: E-SE, 10-20 kts
Sea State: Light Chop
Waves: 2-4 ft.
Sea Surface Temperature (°f): 85
Outlook: For Thursday and Thursday night is for hot and mostly dry weather with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains.
Sargassum Forecast from April 27 to May 5: The chances of sargassum affecting coastal areas will remain high during the next few days. San Pedro has a high probability and a major impact.

The Caribbean Sea

Atlantic high pressure N of the area near 31N73W is supporting areas of fresh to locally strong winds in the Windward Channel, the Gulf of Honduras, and near the coast of Colombia. Recent scatterometer data shows moderate to locally fresh winds across the rest of the basin. Seas are estimated to be 3 to 4 ft except 5-6 ft in the areas of higher winds noted above. An area of active convection is noted over northern Colombia and Venezuela, and a few showers are evident near the ABC Islands and southern Windward Islands.

For the forecast, fresh to occasionally strong E to SE winds are expected in the Gulf of Honduras through Thu night as a cold front moves into the Gulf of Mexico. Gentle to moderate winds will prevail elsewhere across the region through Sun as high pressure north of the region shifts eastward.

Beautiful bird!

A general steady easterly Caribbean wind with some clouds developing.

Mainly sun, but with some clouds, no rain expected.

Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )

Present Condition: Clear skies throughout the country. Totally clear and sunny with strong winds in San Pedro. Fair and warm weather prevails.

24hr Forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells during the daytime and partly cloudy tonight. Little or no rainfall is expected.

Outlook: For Thursday afternoon through to midday on Friday is for hot and mostly dry weather to prevail. There is the chance of isolated thunderstorms developing over the Maya Mountains Thursday afternoon.
