After being away from the sport for over a year due to an injury and the COVID-19 pandemic, San Pedro's Kent 'Bob' Gabourel won the Weekend Warrior cycling race held on Sunday, May 9th, on the mainland. Gabourel took first place after finishing the race in 1:52:27. Weekend Warrior Cycling Club organized the 40-mile race. The route was on John Smith Road, aka link road, from Mile 8 roundabout on the George Price Highway to the Philip Goldson International Airport road roundabout.

The race consisted of three categories, A, B, and C, and the female division. The top three in the A category were Gabourel, Vallan Symns, and Eric Moralez. Gabourel has fully recovered from a broken collarbone injury he sustained during the M and M cycling tour in 2020. He is thankful and glad to have participated in the race with a new team. He referred to them as Team Cycology SPD Ltd.
