The Caribbean Sea

A stationary front along 20N is across the Windward Passage and eastern Cuba, 20N80W. Scattered showers are along and south of the front, from the western tip of Puerto Rico across Hispaniola to Jamaica to the Yucatan Channel. Most of the open waters in the eastern and central Caribbean south of 18N lack any significant precipitation. Fresh to strong E winds prevail over the central Caribbean, as well as in the lee of western Cuba and south of 14N to the coast of Colombia. Moderate to fresh winds are noted elsewhere. For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently developed Subtropical Storm Ana, located about 180 miles northeast of Bermuda.

Surface observations and radar data indicate that the area of low pressure previously over the northwestern Gulf of Mexico has moved inland over southeastern Texas. Therefore, tropical cyclone formation is not expected.

There is a lot of high level winds from the SW, some was causing a swellup over PG, most is over and above the Yucatan, where the ESE Caribbean winds are dominating the picture and carrying a lot of cloud up into the Gulf, associated with some complex weather over the US and the north Atlantic.

Looks as if the result is causing significant clouds over Belize, but no rain, except perhaps in Toledo, this cloud cover will thin and we will be getting some sunshine through the clouds, probably little or no rain today.
