The Caribbean Sea
A trough is noted across the Mona Passage. Isolated showers can be
expected along this trough. Scattered moderate to strong
convection is near the monsoon trough in the SW Caribbean, S of
12N between 76W to 83W. Isolated thunderstorms are also occurring
over the Gulf of Honduras. Strong trade winds are noted in the
south- central Caribbean with moderate to fresh winds elsewhere.
Seas are up to 8 ft near Colombia with 5 to 7 ft across the rest
of the basin.
For the forecast, fresh to strong trades will prevail across the
south- central Caribbean and the Windward Passage through Wed
night as high pressure remains over the western Atlantic. Fresh to
strong winds are expected to pulse nightly in the Gulf of
Honduras tonight through Wed night. Moderate to fresh trade winds
are expected in the lee of Cuba through Tue night.
There is a lot of cloud in the easterly Caribbean winds, and high level clashing over Toledo probably causing sone rain there. It is also causing Caribbean clouds to get heavier in much of central and northern Belize, which are causing the odd scattered showers.
Looks as if today will be largely cloudy, with scattered rain, more so in the south and some sunshine from time to time.
