Many interesting things wash ashore near our home on the island. This dead Cuvier's beaked whale was found yesterday.. Thanks for the identification Linda Sea and the photos Greg Smith. An interesting fact about Cuvier's beaked whales is that they have the longest and deepest recorded dives among whales (222 minutes and 9,724ft respectively).

Tappears to be the second specimen confirmed in Belize after the initial one stranded in 1988 at Northern Two Cayes, Lighthouse Reef.
