General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Mostly cloudy skies this morning. Partly cloudy and windy in San Pedro. Relatively moist airflow continues to dominate our weather.
Advisories: Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas.
24-hour forecast: Sunny skies with cloudy spells today. Tonight skies will be cloudy at times. A few outbreaks of showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop mostly over southern areas.

Outlook: For Wednesday and Wednesday night is for cloudy spells with a few showers or isolated thunderstorms developing mostly over the south.
Sargassum Forecast from May 18 to May 26: The chances of sargassum affecting local beaches continue to be high as satellite imagery shows several sargassum mats over the northwest Caribbean Sea. San Pedro has a high probability and a moderate impact.

The Caribbean Sea

The monsoon trough stretches across NW Colombia into the eastern Pacific. This is the focal point for scattered moderate to strong convection in the SW Caribbean, S of 11N between 75W to 83W. Fresh to strong trade winds are in the south-central Caribbean with fresh winds in the Windward Passage and Gulf of Honduras. Seas are 8 to 10 ft in the south-central Caribbean and 4-6 ft elsewhere.

For the forecast, fresh to strong trades will prevail across the central and portions of the southwest Caribbean through Wed night. By Thu, winds will become fresh to locally strong and continue through the weekend. Moderate to locally fresh winds are expected in the eastern portions of the basin through the rest of the week. In the northwest Caribbean, fresh winds will dominate through Wed and become moderate later in the week. Fresh to strong winds will pulse at night in the Gulf of Honduras and the Windward Passage through Wed night.

The National Hurricane Center has issued the last advisory on Post-Tropical Cyclone Ana, located several hundred miles northeast of Bermuda.

OP Marty	The easterly Caribbean winds are in control of the area, there is actually very little high level cloud, only a bit out at sea. There is the remains of cloud clashing over Toledo, with a lot of cloud, possibly some rain, but clearing up. Looks as if today will have a fair amount of sunshine, but there will be quite a bit of cloud also, probably not much rain, except down south. Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 24°C 76°F Yesterday max. 31°C 87°F Yesterday Rain 5.6 mm ( 0.2") This Morning Rain 3.3 mm ( 0.1" )

Relatively moist conditions prevail. Operators of small crafts should exercise caution as winds may become gusty at times. 24hr Forecast: Sunny with some cloudy spells during the day time and cloudy at times tonight. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur around the country this afternoon; then activity will linger over the south tonight into tomorrow morning. Outlook: A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will linger over the south, while activity will be isolated elsewhere for Wednesday afternoon through midday Thursday.
