The Rotary Club of San Ignacio is having a River Clean up on Saturday June 5th 2021, for World Environment Day. Our cleanup will start at 6am at the Wooden Bridge on the Santa Elena side. The area to be cleaned will be from the wooden bridge to the Hawkesworth Bridge. We are inviting the community to come out and help us. Bring gloves, garbage bags, and hand sanitizer. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Our club commemorated World Environment Day today by hosting a river cleanup campaign, alongside the Rotaract Club of Benque Viejo . We cleaned the biobarrier at the entrance of Benque Viejo and collected a total of 105 bags of garbage. We also cleaned the creek at the entrance by the Matanza. In total, 107 garbage bags were collected. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Benque Viejo Town Council for supporting our efforts and collecting the garbage bags right after our cleanup. Together we can achieve more. Let's do our part to keep our environment clean and discard of garbage in its proper place. Thank you to all Rotarians & Rotaractors that participated today.
