The Caribbean Sea

The northern portions of two tropical waves are extending across the basin. An upper level trough extends over the Windward Passage and western Caribbean. The trough is enhancing convection across Cuba and adjacent waters. Recent observations depict moderate to fresh trade winds in the central Caribbean, where seas are reported to be 5-8 ft. Mainly moderate trade winds are noted in the remainder of the basin, except gentle to moderate north of 18N. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range, except 3-5 ft in the NW Caribbean.

For the forecast, winds will pulse to fresh to strong over the south central Caribbean the next several nights. Elsewhere, high pressure ridge north of the area will continue supporting moderate to fresh tradewinds across much of the Caribbean through early next week.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

There remains no organized tropical features in the Atlantic basin at this time, and none are expected to develop through at least early next week. This is the result of moderate to strong wind shear remaining in places across much of the Gulf of Mexico, southwest Atlantic Ocean and western Caribbean Sea, areas where tropical development usually occurs at this time of year.

Long-range guidance continues to show the wind shear easing across the Gulf of Mexico and western Caribbean later next weekend into early the following week, along with an increase in tropical moisture. This should allow thunderstorm activity to increase, especially in the western Caribbean Sea, which in turn may cause an area of low pressure to form. This may be the next opportunity for tropical development in the basin.

The American model GFS is increasingly adjusting the point where a low-pressure system could be born, which could become a cyclone moving forward.

The model is trending towards the formation of a low pressure system on the coasts on or over Central America or the southwestern Caribbean in a week or ten days.

The Dominican Republic / with Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua, Yucatn Peninsula and Belize, Mexico and the United States, should watch out for whether the forecast is met and this system develops.

At the moment there is nothing to worry about, it is only said that environmental conditions could turn favorable to start the formation of a cyclone, there is still no concrete cyclone formed, and this process takes a few days.

The Caribbean winds are from the ESE this morning and already developing cloud over most of Belize. There was a small area of rain near PG earlier, due to some high level cloud from the NW.

Looks as if today will be sun and cloud, but low chance of any rain. No rain on the radar.

The former Sanctuary Bay - I visited when they were selling land there...oy. Now it's one of the biggest foreign land scams ever investigated by the FTC.
