The Caribbean Sea
There are four tropical waves
moving across the basin.
An upper level cyclonic circulation is centered over the Windward
Passage enhancing convection across Hispaniola and adjacent
waters between 68W-75W.
The monsoon trough is along 10N/11N from 74W in Colombia beyond
northern Costa Rica, into the eastern Pacific Ocean.
Scattered moderate convection is within 90 nm to the north of the
trough between 78W and 86W.
The Atlantic high pressure combined with the
Colombian low supports fresh to strong trades over the south-
central Caribbean through early Wed. Pulsing fresh to strong E
to SE winds are expected in the Gulf of Honduras at night through
Thu night. A tropical wave currently over Central America along
85W will continue moving west enhancing the likelihood of
showers and thunderstorms. The next tropical wave is expected to
approach the Lesser Antilles by Thu.
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
Claudette has lost tropical characteristics over the North Atlantic. The storm is no longer considered tropical. However, the storm will still bring gusty winds, rough surf and some rain to portions of Atlantic Canada over the next day or two.
Meanwhile, a vigorous tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles bears watching for tropical development over the next couple of days. This tropical wave is currently producing some disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are only marginally conducive for tropical development today and Wednesday before wind shear becomes too strong during the end of the week. Regardless, locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds can impact the Lesser Antilles late this week.
One other area of concern will be located near the Azores later this week. An upper-air low pressure is expected to develop near or just north of the Azores at the end of the week. Should this low move far enough south over the weekend, it will encounter some slightly warmer waters, and subtropical development may occur.

Forecast patterns continue to insist that there is probability of cyclone development between Africa and the Caribbean, within the Caribbean and on Mexico's southwestern coast.
There is a TROPICAL WAVE tracking west at 9 mph in the general direction of the Lesser Antilles islands. Although there is a 30% chance of CYCLONE development in the next 48 hours (June 23, 2021), the more likely scenario is a healthy tropical wave will track west into the eastern Caribbean islands, June 25-26, 2021 spreading widespread tropical rain squalls + rough seas late week.
On Ambergris Caye this morning we have rough sea conditions around our barrier reef from a 25 mph wind. Advisories: 0perators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution for gusty winds and locally rough seas.
Presently steady easterly Caribbean winds with some cloud. The high level is from the NE, but there is a front moving down from the north, presently forming a line of cloud over the north Yucatan. This is likely to have an effect on our weather by tonight.
Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, some clouds developing, little or no rain expected. No rain on the Radar.
