[Linked Image]The Belize Tourism Board in collaboration with Sea Sports Belize welcomes Aqualung to Belize to film their 2022 product catalogue which will showcase new products in their scuba diving, snorkeling and free diving lines. Aqualung is a leading manufacturer of scuba and watersports equipment for more than 75 years. The team has been visiting dive and snorkel sites throughout Belize including Lighthouse Reef, Hol Chan, Gallow's Point, and Sergeant's Caye. While many movies have been filmed in Belize, this is the first time that a major scuba equipment manufacturer has filmed their product catalogue.

The Aqualung team filming in Belize includes Aqualung's Global Ocean Ambassador, Philipe Cousteau, grandson of Jacques Yves Cousteau, who co-invented the "aqualung" and visited Belize in 1971 to explore the Great Blue Hole. 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of Philipe's grandfather's expedition to Belize on board the research vessel Calypso, which made the Great Blue Hole world famous. The team also includes world-renowned lead photographer Greg Lecoeur and other conservation ambassadors.

2021 is also the 25th anniversary for Sea Sports Belize, a PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Center operating in Belize City. John and Linda Searle run the family-owned business providing equipment sales, scuba instruction and offers marine tours. Hosting Aqualung, and its ambassadors for this important production, is a wonderful way to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The Belize Tourism Board, Aqualung and Sea Sports Belize would like to thank the Belize Film Commission, the Belize Fisheries Department, Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Belize Audubon Society, Coastal Zone Management Authority & Institute and Victor Forman & family for supporting the production of the 2022 product catalogue.

Grandson of Jacques Cousteau Visits Belize's Pristine Waters
Philippe Cousteau, a world renowned oceanographer and environmental activist, left the country this morning after making his second visit the country in the last five years. Cousteau is continuing the legacy of his grandfather, Jacques, who famously explored Belize's Blue Hole in 1971. Love News spoke with Philippe earlier today about what his impressions were on Belize's efforts to conserve marine life.
