The police investigation continues in the shooting of 35-year-old Luis Abner Tun, which occurred on Saturday, July 10th, at the Clumsy Restaurant and Bar in the San Mateo Subdivision of San Pedro Town. Tun survived the attack and remains in a stable but critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City. No one has been arrested and charged, and police have not established a motive as to why Tun was shot.
In an official police report, it was stated that San Pedro police received information about the shooting around 8:50PM, and upon arriving at the Clumsy Restaurant and Bar, they observed Tun suffering from apparent gunshot injuries to his body. Tun was rushed to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II, where he was treated and later airlifted to Belize City. Initial investigations reveal that Tun was behind the bar counter when a male person dressed in full black entered the bar, walked towards his direction, and fired shots, causing the injuries. The male person then ran outside and jumped on a motorcycle driven by another male person and made good his escape.

Violence Free San Pedro Sees Rare Shooting
And after an almost two year lull in violence from furring between rival groups, there was a targeted shooting over the weekend in San Pedro.
It happened on Saturday night at around 8:45 when 35-year-old Luis Abner Tun was inside his establishment, the Clumpsy Restaurant and Bar, located in the San Mateo Area.
He was standing behind the bar counter when an unknown man, dressed in full black, entered. That would-be assailant walked toward him, quickly pulled out a gun, and fired several shots at him.
Tun was injured multiple times, but survived and made it to the hospital, eventually taken to the KHMH where he is critical. Here's more from police:
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood - Director of Communications, ComPol's Office
"He was at a business establishment socializing when a dark-complexed male person just wanted in fired several shots toward his direction. He was transported to the San Pedro Polyclinic, and then later to the Karl Heusner Memorial where he's listed as stable but critical."

"Now, what is the police investigation showing so far as to what led to that shooting?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"As I said, he is just saying that he was there as a patron. Somebody unknown to him entered and opened fire on him. He didn't give the police any more details and trying to save his life was more important. So, we have to wait until we get any more details from him before we can say what was the reason for the shooting."
Reporter
"Is it believed that he was the intended target?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"Well, I wouldn't know. Only he can clear that up for us in his statement noh."
After the attack, the gunman reportedly ran outside and escaped on a getaway motorbike, which was being driven by another man.
As we said, Tun was not a patron; he and his wife run that restaurant and bar.
