Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
An upper level trough extends from the Atlantic Ocean, across
Hispaniola into the south-central Caribbean. Dry, subsident
northerly flow aloft is suppressing showers and thunderstorms
across much of the central and western Caribbean Sea. Shallow
moisture embedded in the trade wind flow supports scattered
showers over Jamaica adjacent waters.
High pressure north of the region is supporting fresh to strong
trade winds in the south-central Caribbean with seas to 9 ft.
These winds will prevail through Fri and then increase in areal
coverage, reaching Hispaniola adjacent waters Fri night through
Mon night. Moderate to locally fresh winds will pulse at night in
the lee of Cuba and in the Windward Passage through Sun night.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
There are no organized systems in the Atlantic basin at this time. While there are a few tropical waves crossing the basin, tropical development is not anticipated through at least early next week, mainly due to a broad area of Saharan dust over much of the Atlantic basin.
A non-tropical low pressure system has developed a few hundred miles northeast of Bermuda. Tropical development is not expected to occur with this feature over the next few days.
Later this week and weekend, a broad upper-air low pressure system will stall over the southwestern Atlantic. While this area will be monitored for signs of tropical or subtropical development, computer guidance continues to suggest development will not occur. Still, these are the kinds of systems that can very quickly go from nothing to an organized tropical or subtropical feature in just a short time.
