Isolated showers and tstms are over the NW basin. Similar convection is across the Windward Islands as the tropical wave to the east continue to move westward.

The Bermuda High north of the area and lower pressure over N Colombia continue to support fresh to strong NE to E trades over the S central Caribbean and portions of the SW basin. These winds will continue through early next week and increase in speed and areal coverage Mon night through Wed night, reaching Hispaniola adjacent waters. Otherwise, NE trades will become fresh to strong Sat night and Sun night in the Windward Passage.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

There are no organized systems in the Atlantic basin at this time. While there are a few tropical waves crossing the basin, tropical development is not anticipated through at least early next week, mainly due to a broad area of Saharan dust over much of the Atlantic basin.

Through this weekend, a broad upper-air low pressure system will stall over the southwestern Atlantic. While this area will be monitored for signs of tropical or subtropical development, computer guidance continues to suggest development will not occur as there remains limited shower and thunderstorm activity at this time. Still, these are the kinds of systems that can go from nothing to an organized tropical or subtropical feature in just a short time.

No cyclone development is projected thru July 18, 2021. Plentiful Sahara dust is hindering cyclone formation, and although this is good news, all people/friends in the Caribbean basin should be aware of the poor air quality posed by the Sahara dust. If possible, stay indoors and take additional precautions as needed to prevent breathing difficulties.

The Caribbean winds have returned to being from the east, but there is a lot of clod with it, some of this cloud is mid-level cloud, causing rain showers in many places, mainly along the coast, just inland, where the sun on the land is causing the air to rise. These showers are likely to continue through much of the day.

Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, but with significant clouds, some heavy and a high chance of rain showers anywhere, during the day.
