Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

There are two tropical waves moving across the basin.

Over the southwest Caribbean, the monsoon trough extends along 10N between 76W-82W. Scattered moderate convection is noted along the trough mainly south of 10N. Scatterometer data depicts fresh to strong trades prevailing across the south central portion of the basin south of 18N between 70W-82W, while gentle to moderate trades prevail elsewhere.

The Bermuda High north of the area combined with lower pressure over N Colombia will continue to support fresh to strong easterly winds over the south-central Caribbean through most of the week. Expect an increase in speed and areal coverage from tonight through Wed night while reaching as far west as the Hispaniola adjacent waters. Fresh to strong E winds will occur in the afternoons and early evenings for the next several days in the Windward Passage. Fresh to strong winds are expected to pulse in the Gulf of Honduras by Thu. No tropical cyclone activity is expected through midweek.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

There are no organized systems in the Atlantic basin at this time. While there are a few tropical waves crossing the basin, tropical development is not anticipated through at least the middle part of this week, mainly due to a broad area of Saharan dust over much of the Atlantic basin.

The broad upper-air low pressure system in the southwestern Atlantic that we have been keeping an eye on for the past few days still seems unlikely to develop, though it is producing a few clusters of rain and thunderstorms. While this area will be monitored for signs of tropical or subtropical development, computer guidance continues to suggest that development will not occur as there remains limited shower and thunderstorm activity at this time.

A trailing wave at higher levels, in conjunction with our Mayan trough, will favor scattered storms in the region. Tropical wave is in the Caribbean.

The high level clashing has now moved to the west, just a little bit of clashing and rain in a few parts of Belize. But there is a new wave coming our way, perhaps tomorrow.

Today
Looks as if it will be mainly sunny, but with significant clouds and a few rain showers in the morning.

Tonight
Probably generally dry, with some cloud cover

Tomorrow
Too early to tell, but starting off similar to today, but some rain could start to move in by tomorrow evening.
