Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

Numerous strong thunderstorms are noted across the SW Caribbean, south of 11.5N between extreme SE Nicaragua and Colombia, and is associated with the Pacific monsoon trough. A surface low is analyzed near the coast of Panama near 10N80.5W. Scattered moderate convection is noted across the Greater Antilles which are moving into adjacent waters. Latest ASCAT winds indicates gentle to moderate trades across the Caribbean with locally fresh winds N of Colombia. Seas range 3 to 6 ft.

The Atlantic ridge N of the Caribbean will weaken through early next week as the anchoring high centered across the central Atlantic shifts slowly NE and low pressure persists offshore of the Florida coast. This will lead to diminished tradewinds across the basin through Wed. Look for scattered showers and tstms across the E Caribbean and tropical Atlantic waters today associated with another fast moving tropical wave.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

We continue to monitor a disturbance just to the east of Florida for signs of tropical development, and conditions are expected to be somewhat favorable for development over the next day before this pushes onshore in Florida.

Elsewhere, there are a few waves moving westward through the basin, but none of those waves show any signs of organizing. Tropical development is not anticipated through at least the end of the week, mainly due to a broad area of Saharan dust over much of the Atlantic basin.

Two low pressure systems, which could later result in some cyclone development, will leave quite rainfall over much of Central America and Mexico's southwestern coast over the next few days.

On Ambergris Caye this morning we have a hint of a breeze from the North allowing for a calm sea state around our barrier reef. This morning is sunny with an expected high temperature set at 91 f.

Strange weather, there is air moving down over the Gulf, which has not only completely stopped the Caribbean winds, but is now resulting in our wind over Belize coming in from the west, with just a few small clouds. The mid or high level clouds are moving slowly and thin and start form the SW but curve round to from NW over the Caribbean.

Today
Looks as if it will be mainly sunshine, only a little cloud developing in patches, more so in the north at present, does not look like any rain, but the heat could cause some development over the hills.

Tonight
Probably very similar most of the day into the night. But can't tell about tomorrow.

Very little air movement. The north winds are continuing but very slow, the surface wind from the west has stopped, the easterly Caribbean winds have not started. Not much cloud around in most places, but a little is developing, significantly more is developing over the Mountains and could lead to thunderstorms later.

Present Condition: Clear skies throughout the country, including San Pedro. Fair and warm weather conditions will prevail. Residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.

24hr Forecast: Mostly sunny during the daytime and clear to partly cloudy tonight. Fair weather will prevail, with warm daytime temperatures across the country. Showers, if any, will be isolated, and there is the chance for isolated thunderstorms to develop over the maya mountains this afternoon.

Outlook: For Monday afternoon through to midday on Tuesday is for mainly fair and warm weather to prevail, with isolated showers or the possibility of isolated thunderstorms developing.
