Belize NMS: Present Condition: Mostly clear this morning in the very north, mostly cloudy in the rest of the country. Mostly clear in San Pedro. Relatively moist and unstable conditions linger over the area but conditions are expected to improve.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Cloudy spells with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms this morning, decreasing by this afternoon. Tonight skies will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms except for a few more over the south.

Outlook: For Sunday and Sunday night is for generally fair weather except for a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Toledo District Sunday night.
Sargassum Forecast from August 3 to August 11: Satellite and surface observations continue to show several sargassum mats just offshore and along beaches across the country. There continues to be a high chance of more sargassum beaching during the next few days. San Pedro has a moderate probability and a moderate impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook: A tropical wave near the west coast of Africa is producing a large area of disorganised showers. This system has a medium chance of becoming a tropical depression during the next 48 hours, as it moves generally westward over the eastern Tropical Atlantic. Click for more...

Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

High pressure prevails north of the area. Fresh to locally strong trades prevail over the south central Caribbean, with moderate to fresh trades elsewhere. Seas are in the 7-9 ft range over the south central Caribbean, 4-6 ft over the north central Caribbean, and 3-5 ft elsewhere.

Fresh to strong trade winds will continue across the south- central Caribbean through tonight, strongest near the coast of NE Colombia and NW Venezuela. Winds will then diminish significantly across most of the basin Sun through Mon. Expect fresh east winds in the Gulf of Honduras late this afternoon through the nighttime hours. Fresh NE winds are expected in the Windward Passage during the evening hours this weekend. Gentle to moderate trades will prevail elsewhere.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

There's a broad area of low pressure located over the far eastern Atlantic Ocean a few hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands, producing a large area of disorganized cloudiness and showers. Environmental conditions are expected to be somewhat conducive for development, and a tropical depression could form by the early to middle part of next week while the system moves west-northwestward to westward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic at 10 to 15 mph. It has a low (30 percent) chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a medium (50 percent) chance during the next five days.

Elsewhere, a small but well-defined area of low pressure is located over the eastern tropical Atlantic about a thousand miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, producing limited shower activity. Development of this system, if any, is expected to be slow to occur while it drifts toward the west-southwest or west over the central tropical Atlantic through the middle of next week and potentially interacts with the broader area of low pressure to its east. It has a low (10 percent) chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a low (20 percent) chance during the next five days.

Also, a tropical wave is located over the west-central tropical Atlantic, producing limited shower activity. Significant development of this system is not expected as it moves west-northwestward across the Lesser Antilles and eastern Caribbean Sea during the early to middle part of next week. It has a near zero chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a low (10 percent) chance during the next five days.
