here is flooding in Southern Belize tonight.
Waters continue to rise under the Toledo district's Bladen bridge tonight as residents are advised to closely monitor river levels in the area.
That's because the warnings from the National Hydrological service are that flood levels in REGION 11 are expected to persist, and if so the rising waters of the Bladen Branch of Monkey river could cut off the southern highway's path.
But while the bridge is only threatened at this hour the main streets of Bladden village are already underwater, forcing passersby to slow down while trying to get their cars across.
And there are high water marks throughout the south - the SITTEE RIVER at Kendal Bridge is at FLOOD STAGE. Levels on the DEEP RIVER at Medina Bank is AT FLOOD STAGE. On the RIO GRANDE at San Pedro Columbia, level is ABOVE THE BRIDGE. At Big Falls South, levels are at FLOOD STAGE and Increasing. And The TEMASH RIVER at Crique Sarco is at FLOODED and increasing.
