The Belize@40 Mural project spearheaded by Mayor Rigo Vellos and the Corozal Town Council - taking shape at the Coronation Park.

Four well-known Corozal artists, Daniel Cano (lead artist), Carlos Carrillo, Christy Carrillo and David Avilez are delivering the art masterpiece, representing our proud Corozal history and culture, at this key juncture of Belize's 40th Independence Anniversary!

The mural project commissioned by the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology Hon. Francis Fonseca, through the nine municipal governments, and with the support of the Belize Belize National Celebrations Commission, the National Institute of Culture & History and the Government of Taiwan will be one of the key highlights of this year's September celebrations.

The Corozal Town mural is nearing completion. Led by four local artists, the piece features people and places that form a part of the northern district's unique history.

In Corozal Town, the already scenic drive along the shoreline is brightened by the bare cement walls transformed into artwork. And with the help of local artists, a new masterpiece has been added to the town's collection.



Finally tonight, we've spent the past week showing you Belize's new Municipal murals. They're an artistic celebration of the country's 40th anniversary painted in colorful relief to combat the feeling of defeat and depression that many would say set in with the pandemic.

And tonight we take you to Corozal where artists Daniel Cano, Carlos Carillo, Chrissy Carillo, and David Avilez revealed their masterpiece of a mural.
