General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Very cloudy skies this morning throughout the country as a tropical wave moves through the area. Cloudy in San Pedro.
Advisories: Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. There is the possibility for flooding to occur over low-lying and flood prone areas.
24-hour forecast: Cloudy with some showers, periods of rain and thunderstorms over most areas today, decreasing tonight.

Outlook: For Friday and Friday night is for a few showers or thunderstorms around the country.
Sargassum Forecast from October 5 to October 13: There continues to be a medium chance of sargassum affecting local beaches during the next few days. San Pedro has a medium probability and a moderate impact.

Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

There are two tropical waves in the Atlantic, and one in the Caribbean.

A broad upper trough extends from Hispaniola northward across the Atlantic, while an sharp and narrow upper trough is along 60W to the N of 10N. A broad area of low to middle level moisture has converged to the N and E of the tropical wave along 86W, yielding active convection. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is across the SW Caribbean S of 12.5N between coastal Colombia and coastal Nicaragua. Small widely scattered clusters of moderate convection are seen elsewhere inside the Caribbean. Fresh to strong trade wind prevail across most of central portions of the basin between 68W and 80W, where seas are 7 to 10 ft. Fresh trades and seas 5 to 6 ft prevail to the E.

Fresh to locally strong trade winds across the majority of central Caribbean today will reduce coverage to across the south central Caribbean tonight behind the tropical wave exiting the western Caribbean. A tropical wave will move across the tropical Atlantic waters today through early Fri and weaken as it enters the E Caribbean Fri. A low level disturbance accompanied by strong winds, seas 8 to 10 ft, and very active weather will enter the tropical Atlantic waters early Fri and reach the central Lesser Antilles Fri morning. Strong upper level wind shear across the E and NE Caribbean during this time is expected to weakening this system as it moves westward across the E Caribbean Fri through Sat.

OP Marty	There are currently no organized tropical features in the Atlantic basin. A weak area of low pressure located about 150 miles off the coast of northeastern Florida and Georgia is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Strong upper-level winds should limit significant tropical development during the next few days while the low moves northward and then northeastward off the southeastern coast of the United States. By the weekend, the system is forecast to interact with a front, which could also limit tropical development. Regardless of development, this system could bring gusty winds and locally heavy rain to portions of the Carolinas late this week and this weekend. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent. elbert	On Ambergris Caye this morning we have a calm sea condition around our barrier reef from a North wind blowing at 5mph. OP Marty	Yesterday, a lot of high level thick cloud came up from the south, over Honduras into the Caribbean, and caused a lot of rain, which moved in over Belize last night. There is still rain about, but most has now passed, although more coming in from the see north of Honduras. There is still cool air down over the western Gulf, which is slowing down the Caribbean easterly winds and causing a line of cloud over the Gulf, way up into most of the eastern States. The easterly Caribbean winds over Belize are mixing with the SE high level clouds, and causing areas of rain. Looks as if a fair amount more rain for central Belize this morning, could be rain showers in other places, later. Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 25°C 78°F Yesterday max. 32°C 90°F Yesterday Rain 0.2 mm (0") Over Night Rain 9 mm (0.4")

OP Marty	There is now air coming down from the Gulf, towards south Belize, and the Caribbean and Mid level winds going up from the ESE causing a rotation, which is low pressure and so dropping rain. Present Condition: Mostly cloudy throughout the country, partly cloudy in San Pedro. Moist and unstable conditions persist due to a tropical wave in our area. Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. There is the possibility for flooding to occur over low-lying and flood prone areas. 24hr Forecast: Cloudy spells with some periods of rain, showers and thunderstorms will continue around the country this afternoon and tonight, decreasing to a few by tomorrow morning. Outlook: A few showers or thunderstorms will continue mainly over northern and inland areas Friday afternoon becoming isolated by Saturday morning. Weather analysis shows extensive trough over the peninsula interacting with a front end system in the Gulf of Mexico. Heavy rain expected. Tropical wave 35 passed since yesterday. In fact, 36 is coming from the Caribbean.
