Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
There are two tropical waves in the Atlantic, and two in the Caribbean.
A sharp upper level trough and upper level low is located in the
NW Bahamas. This is enhancing the development of showers and
thunderstorms to the east of a surface trough that extends from
the NE Caribbean to well north of the Leeward Islands. The large
area of convection is mainly N of 15N between 62W and 67W. These
storms are impacting parts of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Overnight scatterometer data indicate that fresh to strong
southerly winds are occurring in association with the strongest
convection. Moderate or weaker winds prevail in the rest of the
basin. The exception are locally fresh trades noted in between
Cuba and Jamaica and within 60 nm of the central coast of Cuba.
Seas of 3-5 ft are found E of 77W. Seas of 1-3 ft are prevalent
elsewhere in the Caribbean.
For the forecast, a vigorous upper level trough from the Bahamas to
the NW Caribbean will support active weather across the central
Caribbean and extreme NE Caribbean through Fri. Northerly swell
will subside across the regional Atlc and Caribbean passages
today. Low pres NE of the southern Bahamas will drift E-NE tonight
through Thu then accelerate NE into the weekend. This will weaken
the pressure gradient across the Caribbean basin leading to
tranquil marine conditions.

The Atlantic basin has no organized tropical systems at this time. A broad area of low pressure located a few hundred miles northeast of the Turks and Caicos continues to produce a large area of disorganized cloudiness and thunderstorms primarily east and northeast of its center. Strong upper-level winds are expected to prevent significant development of this system during the next day or so. The low is beginning to move eastward and should accelerate further to the east-northeast over the next several days. On Friday, the disturbance is forecast to interact with a mid-latitude trough and further tropical development is not anticipated after that time. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent. Gorgeous photo! There has been a warm bubble of air move up over our area, still having influence over the Caribbean winds, which are very light, and even a trace coming in from the west. There has been ITCZ activity over the Guatemalan Pacific, which is sending traces of high level our way. So we are still experiencing very hot weather, which should have been cooling off by now, hopefully it will in the next few days. Looks as if today will be yet another hot sunny day. As the sun heats the ground, so it will cause pockets of hot air to rise up, in doing so, they expand and cool, until they condense their humidity and clouds will form later this morning, just beginning in the north. ![[Linked Image]](//Ambergriscaye.com/art8/belmopanwx211014.jpg) Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 25°C 77°F Yesterday max. 34°C 92°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm (0") Over Night Rain 0 mm (0")
